| Second Building Progresses
JUNE 2, 2006 - The construction on the second building is continuing and Pastor Vital is hoping to have the building completed and ready for occupation by September 1, 2006.
Several work teams and individuals ahve come from churches in the United States and every day the workmen come in and work tp finish out the building.
As you can see from the picture, the stucco is done on the outside of the building and the window bars are installed.
This is the building that will house the children of parents who go off for many months at a time to work on cruise ships.
The unemployment rate in the Bluefields area is nearly 80% and this means that the only decent option is working on cruise ships. As a result, parents might leave their older children to care for the younger children
This house will give parents an option to provide a loving Christian environment for the kids while they are out at sea.
Nearing Completion
As you can tell from the photo above, the inside of the building is coming along very nicely. On the first floor, the tile is in place and the workmen are finishing out the kitchen.
The kitchen will feature a nice stainless steel double sink as well as a stove and a refrigerator. In this picture to the right, you can see where the workman have set the new kitchen sink in place. The refrigerator will go next to the sink and the stove will be under the window.

Still Working Upstairs
The upstairs where the children will sleep, has yet to be tiled. That is scheduled in the near future. As you can tell, the rooms will be very light and will also provide plenty of fresh air.
One nice thing about he climate in Bluefields is that it does not get much above 85 degrees and does not go lower than 70 degrees in most cases.
The real change in weather comes when you go from dry to wet season and vice versa. Right now it should be rainy season, but it has been fairly dry so far.
In any event, stay tuned to the progress and we will keep you updated.
