| Computer Lab
Many people have donated their used computers over the past years so that we could build a computer lab that is used for the after school programs and the adult education programs.
Computer Skills Training.
The computer lab opens up a new window of opportunity for children and adults in Bluefields.
The students are shown here working on basic typing skills.
They can move on to courses in everything from computer basics to various Windows programs. One of our biggest needs is for new up-to-date computers so that we can begin teaching Windows XP and many more complex applications.
Oniel, seen here standing up, teaches computer skills at different levels to the students.
These classes offer an opportunity to share the gospel with these students..
Database and Web Development
We are planning to create a website and database design class for adults. We will show them how to create and maintain a full e-commerce site.
We are currently involved in discussions with a US manufacturer about donating equipment and software and providing us with our first web development project.
Once the training is complete, we will be soliciting web development projects for English and Spanish speaking companies. We hope that this will allow us to provide good employment opportunities which are so desperately needed in this country of 80% unemployment.
The profits from these projects will be used to continue to fund mission projects.
This project will be guided by Tim Mott from POOLplaza.com, a successful internet retailer based in Dallas, TX. Tim travels often to Bluefields to assist with leadership training and various other projects.
